Living and learning to Surf in Huntington Beach L.A. California and travelling to the best surf beaches worldwide added to Mark’s natural love of surf and the ocean. This coupled with his work with the Waveproject, a charity helping kids and young adults Surf as a therapy for mental health, inspired Mark to create and launch Shaka Surf Branksome - Beach Watersports.
Based on one of the UK’s most beautiful sandy beaches at Branksome Dene in Poole Bay, Shaka Surf is perfectly located for all ages and abilities to have fun in the water - paddleboarding, surfing, kayaking, corporate events, parties, games and much, much more! With parking close to the beach, and amenities at a very short stroll, we’re blessed with an idyllic base on the UK's popular south coast.

UPDATE COTONA VIRUS
In light of the recent news, we’ve had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone our Kids Surf clubs this Easter holidays. We’ll be starting clubs up again as soon as we can trade safely for everyone. Any spaces already paid for will be transferable to future club dates (TBC) or exchangeable for surf vouchers to be used on hire or lessons. We’ll keep you up to date in the coming weeks. UPDATE : WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE WE ARE BACK ON THE BEACH THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND May 23rd PLEASE READ 🙂 Following BCPs recent announcement on re-opening leisure locations and beaches across the area, and in close partnership with Surfing England, we’re pleased to let you know that Shaka Surf Branksome will re-open for hire and restricted lessons only from this Saturday 23 May. We are and will continue to be strictly following government, local council and surfing England guidance at all times, adhering to all necessary social distancing and cleansing requirements. We will also be offering hire and 1:1 or same household lessons only. Payments will be accepted by contactless or bank transfer methods only to reduce any potential contamination risks. ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATE
As we previously stated, the health and safety of our staff and customers is our number one priority. With this in mind and since seeing how busy the beaches have been in the past couple of days, we’ve unfortunately had to make the very hard decision to postpone the re-opening of Shaka Surf Branksome to a later date. We’re truly sorry for any disappointment this might cause but we want to make sure we reopen at the right time, when we can ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone.
